Pattern for a curled up, sleeping crocodile figurine. The curved back ridge is, appropriately, made up of crocodile stitches. Perfectly cute and adorable…until it wakes up.

When made out of t-shirt yarn (see http://www.recoverista.com/?p=384) and with a 5mm (H) hook, the croc is 7-8 inches long. When made out of a sports weight yarn and with a 2.5mm hook, it will only be about 3 inches long. You can vary both yarn and hook sizes to get the perfect croc for you! The body and back are made in one piece, so sewing only required for legs and eyes.

UPDATE: one of my genious readers suggested making one croc in a chunky yarn weight, one in a worsted weight and one in a sports weight so you can have a whole cute croc family!

Suitable for amigurumi lovers, repurposing artists AND croc fanatics:). Also perfect to finally do something with that loved old t-shirt you can’t bear to throw away!

Pattern is 15 pages long and contains:

  • written instructions per row and specific explanations on how to shape the back ridge, legs and eyes;
  • photo tutorials for any point that might be confusing without them.

For intermediate crocheters. If you experience any problems, please always feel free to email me at info@recoverista.com or shout out on my FB page facebook.com/Recoverista.

This design is part of the MonstrosiTees Series. MonstrosiTees are dolls, but not amigurumi; they’re the antigurumi, if you will. They are imperfect and proud of it. They’re entirely made out of repurposed materials and the love, time and effort you invest in them will show in every irregular stitch. Hopefully, they’ll put a smile on your face and show you that with a bit of creativity, any throwaway item can become something new!

NB. I’m cool with you selling products you make by using my patterns. I do really appreciate it if you let me know. And of course, you get extra brownie points for a pattern credit or link back!:)

Have fun!
