I was trying to decide how best to use up all the extra sock yarn I have. I seem to be in a crochet phase lately, so started playing around with a basic hat construction. I wanted something easy, fast and yet still visually interesting and that I could put on one of my boys. I decided against any fancy stitching, because I wanted to let the yarn to the talking. There are so many truly amazing sock yarns out there, with just beautiful color ways, that I decided a simple hat would show off the colors best while still being a quick project. I made this hat in one day, with stops to take kids to school, make lunch, do the dishes and two loads of laundry. (Though, to be honest, I left the folding for someone else and we have a dishwasher… ;P)
