In preparation for Star Wars Day on May the 4th, make yourself a lightsaber to keep you safe from all the Sith (or, if you’re on the Dark Side, all the Jedi) out there!

Stuff you need:

G (4mm) OR F (3.75mm) hook; whichever you prefer. I used a G and it turned out roughly 18” long and 4” wide, but I tend to crochet tightly.

Worsted weight yarn in grey, black, and whatever color (or colors) you want the two lightsaber sides to be.

Stuffing (like Polyfil)

Yarn needle

Things you need to know:

How to make and crochet in a magic circle

How to chain, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, work in the back loop only, and slip stitch (American terms)

This pattern is perfect for those with little stormtroopers who like to hit people with their toy weapons; it’s nearly impossible to cause actual pain with this lightsaber!
