2021 Update! Lilac Trail has been completely revamped, including the addition of 4 more sizes and video tutorials.

Lilac Trail is a great light layering vest for any season. Using DK-weight yarn, it’s completely seamless and worked from the bottom-up. It features a pretty lace pattern panel along the back (pattern includes link to video tutorial for this!) as well as eyelet panels along each front.
The very detailed instructions are ideal for the beginner knitter (even if you have never done lace work before), and many of the instructions are divided out by size to make pattern reading even easier. So there are a lot of pages in the pattern but this is not due to the instruction difficulty – it’s just to accommodate these detailed instructions for 11 different sizes!
Pattern also includes links to many of the other techniques used in the pattern.

PATTERN DETAILS:

Finished Circumference: 32.5 (35.5, 38.25, 41.25, 44.25, 47.25) (50, 53, 55.75, 58.75, 64.5)”/ 83 (90, 97, 105, 112, 120) (127, 135, 142, 149, 164) cm

Picking a Size: Shown in size 2 (35.5”/90 cm), being worn with approx 2.5”/6 cm of positive ease. For a similar fit, choose a size that is approx. 2-4”/5-10 cm larger than your actual bust measurement.

Gauge: 22 sts & 30 rows = 4”/10 cm in St st after blocking.

Yarn: Approx. 700 (760, 840, 900, 970, 1020) (1090, 1140, 1215, 1275, 1390) yds of DK-weight yarn, shown in Edna DK by Dirty Water Dyeworks (85% Wool, 15% Silk); 130g = 380 yds), 2 (2, 3, 3, 3, 3) (3, 3, 4, 4, 4) skeins, shown in Mauve. (See note below though about number of skeins)

Note: newer versions of this yarn have less weight/ yardage per skein, so if you are getting the 115g/331 yd skein version, you will need the following number of skeins: 3 (3, 3, 3, 3, 3) (4, 4, 4, 4, 5).
