A shawl knit with an open, airy mesh, perfect for tying around your neck on a cool day. This pattern uses a lace pattern that forms intricate looking diamonds, but the knitting isn’t too complicated - all wrong side rows are purled, and the pattern is quite repetitive and logical to keep track of.

Gauge
in lace pattern (blocked): 1 pattern repeat 12 sts x 20 rows= 2 ¾” x 3” (7 x 7.5 cm)

Skill Level
Intermediate. Skills used include lace knitting.

Pattern Notes
This kerchief is worked from end to end, so there are only 3 stitches to cast on and 3 to bind off. Increases and decreases are made along the left edge of the work. All of the wrong side rows are purled. The lace pattern is given in both charted and written form. Stitch counts for every row in the pattern are given.
