This pattern contains knit and crochet elements. The hat is knit, but the ears are crochet.

Baby (Adult)
Knitting: 24sts/36rows (16 sts/ 24 rows) = 4x4in/10x10 cm stockinette with size 3/ 3.25mm (8/ 5.0mm) needles.
Crochet: 27sts x 16rows (16sts/ 10rows) = 4x4 in/ 10x10cm in double crochet with size B/ 2.25mm (G/ 4.0mm) hook. Exact gauge is not crucial as long as the stitches are tight.
