This is a pattern for a very “long wingspan” crescent shaped shawlette. The bottom is enhanced by a lovely lace stitch that adds a wonderfully feminine finish to this piece. The shawlette measures 68 inches at the widest points across the top and is 16.5 inches deep at the deepest point. It is made with a single skein of fingering weight yarn on a size #7 (U.S.)/4.5mm needle. (Note: If your gauge is different from mine, it can affect both the final size, and the yardage requirements.) Because of the long wingspan, there are countless ways in which it can be worn.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of lace knitting).

The shawlette was both jointly designed and expertly test knitted by Barbara Robertson, who can be contacted at: Barb. Robertson@ gmail.com, and is known on Ravelry as NanaKnits4Us. The yarn used in the sample is Fiesta’s Baby Boom in colorway, Purple Passion.
