Lovey is the mascot for the “Lightbulb Lovies” line of Amigurumi patterns. She was developed when I realised how much the base body pattern I had created to make the other pieces in the line resembled a light bulb. She was a huge fan of Missing Persons in the 1980’s and never really shed the pink and blue streaked hair and excess of makeup. These days, she fears obsolescence because she’s not one of those “new fangled CFL bulbs.”

She sits about 6” tall (not including hair) and is about 3 1/4” at her widest point. Using simple stitches and a bit of embroidery, this pattern works up quickly and uses no sewing (I hate to sew). The example was worked using worsted weight acrylic yarn, but you could also use wool, or other similar fiber with good loft.

Supplies needed:
worsted weight yarn -- about 75 yards of color A, about 5-10 yards of color B
size G-6 (4.o mm) crochet hook
yarn needle
stitch marker
small amounts of yarn, embroidery floss or other embellishments as desired

The pattern will be emailed to you in .pdf format within 48 hours of confirmed payment. I am usually able to get patterns out within a few hours of purchase, but I never know what my internet connection is going to do.
