Is it a cowl or is it a collar?
It’s a cowllar - a short scarf that wraps closely around your neck, and is secured by a single decorative button.
The cowllar can be worn in a couple of different ways - with or without a point in front.
Experiment, and see how you like to wear your cowllar.

Pattern uses 1 skein of Ella Rae Lush Merino ( 66 yards pure hand painted roving merino ) and size 15 needles.
It is knit flat, in an easy and enjoyable drop stitch pattern.
A single decorative button is used for closure, which fits through the holes in the fabric. There is no need to knit a buttonhole into the fabric.

Skills required are casting on, knitting, and binding off.
It’s a very quick knit - perfect for last minute gifts!
