I needed a Christmas gift for the mailman as a thank-you for all he has done for me this year. It seemed appropriate to whip up this masculine scarf for what is turning out to be a colder Texas winter than normal. I churned it out in 4 days, including wet-block drying time, so it works as a last-minute knit gift.

I had some camel-colored DK washable wool on hand, so that is what I used. You can use any yarn you have on hand (gauge doesn’t matter). Just make the needles match what the yarn label recommends and go with it. If you are using a lighter weight yarn, feel free to add another 7-stitch pattern repeat (the pattern is multiples of 7+3). The model is 8” wide and 67” long, which is long enough to wear several ways.

The pattern is simple - garter stitch on the sides, top and bottom with a 6 - row pattern repeat. The resulting textured scarf looks like it has triangles and pleats, but still looks masculine for any guy in your life. And did I mention, it’s reversible as well?
