A beautiful shawlette which is easy to wear and fun to knit, which features an interesting elongated crossed stitch pattern, yarn over rows and a pretty beaded picot cast off (beads are optional).

Mar Menor is shaped by working two columns of paired increases which radiate out from the centre back cast on and makes the shawlette sit comfortably across the shoulders and the long front sections are created by working double increases on every other row, and makes the shawl easy to wrap around the neck as a scarf.

Please note:
Stitch markers are used to section off the two ‘spine’ stitches (dotted lines on the schematic in the pattern). The markers can easily slip underneath the yarn overs. Please ensure the markers stay in front of the ‘spine’ stitches. If preferred, use a removable (locking) marker and place it on the actual ‘spine’ stitches themselves. Move the marker up every few rows. The two ‘spine’ columns should be clearly visible after a few rows.
