Here’s a fun way to use up your leftover self-patterning and hand-dyed sock yarns while creating useful beanies. Simply combine two sock yarns or another fingering weight yarn with your various sock yarns and see what you get. This hat is worked in a 2 x 2 ribbing all the way to the top with 4 options:

  1. A simple single layer Beanie
  2. Double layered hem Beanie
  3. Totally Doubled Beanie for extra warmth & reversible
  4. Tufts of wool (thrums) knit into the hat Because 2 x 2 ribbing makes a stretchy fabric, the sizing doesn’t have to be exact – another bonus!
