An unexpected shape and alternating garter and stockinette stripes meet up in Marmande to create a wrap that makes looking stylish seem effortless. Toss this wrap over jeans and t-shirt to look luxurious and classy with little trouble.
The Marmande wrap is easy to knit and works up quickly. The pattern provides an excellent opportunity to learn short row shaping, and is ideal for a beginner ready for the next step. If you can knit and purl, and would like to learn one new thing, this could be your next project

Susquehanna Knitting Company and Meridith Shepherd Designs are co-sponsoring a KAL for Marmande. Please join the KAL thread for camaraderie, prizes, color chatter and other fun.

Advanced or Ambitious Beginner. Requires basic short row shaping and simple color changes.

When working a shawl, many knitters opt not to swatch for gauge, and gauge is not crucial with this pattern. If you do not intend to swatch, it would be in your best interest to get a second skein of the CC, as nearly all of the skein was used in the sample.
