This stylish but subtle hat is perfect for both men and women. Slipped stitches provide gentle spirals of patterning, culminating in radiating intersecting lines in the decreases.

Though it is quite a simple knit, needing only knowledge of slipped stitches, knit, purls and k2tog, as well as knitting in the round, the result looks complex (especially in the top of the hat).

Choice of yarn will give either a subtle look if two similar shades are used, or a dramatic optical look if yarns of two contrasting colours are chosen.

Thankyou to roxyrana for the pattern name suggestion, named after a type of swirling long grass.
