This is a pattern to create this fabulously oversized, warm, snuggly cardigan. The inspiration behind this design was my grandad’s cardigans I remember growing up. We used to dress up in them when we were children and I just loved how they looked all big and loose!

This cardigan has been made with Rowan Brushed Fleece yarn a super soft and chunky weight merino and alpaca blend. It is super warm and super light weight - the perfect combination for a snuggly winter knit.

The finished cardigan has a loose 80’s vibe to it, with plenty of little details to give it a bit of an edge, from the single cable on the front, echoed in the pocket tops, to the slightly bomber jacket shape and the oversized patch pockets.

Two generous sizes have been included in the pattern: S/M will fit from 34’ bust up to 38’ bust and the M/L will fit from 38” Bust to 43” bust.

The instructions are in a clear and concise layout, it is a suitable project for anyone who has mastered the basics of knitting: casting on, casting off, increasing and decreasing, knit, purl and a very basic cable. So if you are new to knitting and want something that is highly wearable and has a couple of basic new skills to learn, this is it.
