Mary so loves to wear long gloves, with flattering lacy sleeves falling over them in gentle drapes! In these, her favourite ones, the lace theme of the sleeves is already incorporated in the top end of the gloves. But as Mary isn’t one to go over the top (she has style!), the main part of the gloves is plain, just featuring the traditional three pleats on the back of the hand. There is a truly vintage “mousquetaire opening” on the inside of the wrist. A practical elastic band is fed through the upper part of the cuff to stop the gloves from slipping down the arms.

The gloves can be worked in fingering, sport or dk weight yarn. Fingering weight yarn will result in lightweight, loosely knitted and more decorative gloves. For dense and warm gloves choose a dk weight yarn.

The sizes are Women’s XS, S, M, L, and XL, to fit hands with a circumference above thumb of around 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21.5 cm (6 5/8, 7 1/8, 7 1/2, 7 7/8, and 8 1/2”), and arms with a circumference below elbow of around 23, 24, 25.5, 28, and 30.5cm / 9, 9 1/2, 10, 11, and 12”.

The pattern is fully written, with additional charts for the lace section.

The eBook includes the short version of the pattern “Mary’s Short Gloves
