The Maya Beanie is crocheted using worsted weight yarn and a size J crochet hook. The hat can be made in three sizes: adult, child, and toddler. The hat is constructed side to side with a seam instead of top down or bottom up. The beanie is topped with a DIY fur pompom made from faux fur purchased at your local fabric or craft store. A soft, light-weight worsted yarn like Caron Simply Soft works best for this hat.

Measurements:
Adult hat – Fits 18”- 22” circumference, 10” height
Child hat – Fits 16”- 18” circumference, 9” height (ages 5-12)
Toddler – Fits 14” – 16” circumference, 8” height (ages 2-4)

Materials:
Size J - 6mm Crochet Hook
Worsted weight (size 4) yarn, one skein (shown in Caron Simply Soft Gray Heather Tweed, Off White Tweed and Taupe Tweed)
Yarn needle for weaving in ends
¼-yard faux fur fabric (you will have plenty left over to make more pompoms)
Tapestry needle with sharp point for hand-sewing faux fur
Scissors or craft knife
