This is the third pattern release (fourth pattern though) for my new Ebook “Just Playing Around”.

An unusual face framing brim adds interest to a classic hat pattern.

The Scandinavian Northern Star pattern is a classic and seen in many knitting traditions. This version is as simple as it gets, just two colours in a beautiful wool.

The rounded brim is the interesting detail, easy to knit and finish and very wearable for most face shapes the rounded brim can be personalized in so many ways. In this version it was knit with a soft alpaca boucle. It could look stunning knit with wonderful shiny ribbon or silk. The brim could be wool and wrapped with ribbon for texture, your stash and your imagination are the limits!

Materials: Drops Alpaca Boucle 25 grs, BC Garn Loch Lomond, 2 shades 25 grs main and 15 grs contrast, 4.0mm US #6 16in circs and dpns, 3.5mm crochet hook, markers, a tapestry needle with a large enough eye to thread crochet chain through and the regular notions
