The Melted Macaroon Hat is a great way to use up leftover fingering weight yarn. You just need 25 grams of each color to create your own! The colorwork is done with slipped stitches, so you will only ever work with one color at a time.

The hat comes in two styles - beanie and slouch. The only difference to the pattern is the length (or how “tall” the hat is).

The hat is written for a 19” circumference. (Because the stitch repeats in each round are divisible by four, you should be able to adjust the size by casting on 4 less stitches for a smaller size or 4 more stitches for a larger size.)

Materials needed:

  • 3 colors of fingering weight yarn - approximately 25 grams of each
  • Size 3/3.25mm 16” circular needles (for ribbed brim)
  • Size 4/3.5mm 16” circular and double pointed needles

I hope you enjoy knitting the Melted Macaroon Hat!
