This is a fun, quick, and easy baby blanket, combining side panels of double moss stitch, and a center panel of simple cables.
Finished size is 24” x 30” (after blocking).
Although this is not a ‘reversible’ pattern, even the wrong side of the blanket is attractive!
It is an easy 4 row pattern repeat - easy to memorize, which makes the knitting fun and stress-free!
Use of markers (as instructed in the pattern) to separate the sections of stitches will help you avoid mistakes, and enjoy the process of knitting this pattern.
Blanket has a unique and attractive rolled edge finish, easily accomplished by following the written instructions.

Blanket is knit in one piece. The only finishing is weaving in your ends, and blocking.

Materials: Approximately 500 yards of chunky weight yarn, and size 10.5 circular needles - 24” or longer.
I found a 24” circular needle, the ideal length for this project.

Recommended Gauge: 3.5 stitches and 4 rows per inch in stockinette stitch, using size 10 circular needles.
Although the blanket is knit with textured stitches
(cables and double moss stitch), the gauge is determined by knitting a stockinette stitch swatch, for ease in determining appropriate sized needles.
Change needle size as necessary, to achieve correct gauge and/or fabric that you like.
Since this is a blanket, exact gauge is not critical. Use the needle size you need, for a fabric that you like.
