Michelle's Mitered Squares Blanket
This unisex baby blanket is fun and interesting to knit!
After blocking, finished size is approximately 22” x 28”.
Recommended gauge is 3.5 stitches per inch, and I used size 10 single pointed needles. ( It’s a blanket - gauge isn’t critical. )
This pattern includes clear instructions for mitered squares.
If you haven’t tried this technique before, you are in for a treat!
While you can use any chunky weight yarn, the beautiful colors of Ella Rae Seasons yarn magically creates a work of art, as you knit!
Blanket was made using 3 skeins of Ella Rae Seasons yarn.
The blanket begins with a single mitered square, and all subsequent squares are attached as you go.
There are no seams, and very little finishing required! Just weave in your ends, do a bit of edging if desired, and you’re done!
The size of your blanket can easily be adapted by adding more rows or columns of squares.
To finish off the edges, I did a round of single crochet.
If you don’t crochet, you could just pick up stitches along each side of the blanket, knit a row or two, and bind off - just to neaten up your edges a bit.
I hope that you’ll enjoy knitting this blanket, and wrapping it around your little bundle of joy!
