Miss Matty’s Capelet was inspired by a very charming PBS series called “Cranford”, based on the Victorian novellas by Elizabeth Gaskell. The very sweet Miss Matty wears lovely capelets like this throughout the series.

Size: 9 x 68 inches, but adjustable in width by adding extra repeats, and adjustable in length by adding groups of five pegs.

Loom: ½ inch or 5/8 inch gauge loom with 27 pegs flat knit

Yarn: Main capelet – 360 yards heavy worsted or aran yarn in wool or wool/alpaca/silk blend
Edging – 50 yards of ribbon yarn, about ½ inch wide
