Design notes
I really enjoyed designing and working this top!
The gorgeous lace-patterned hem can be worked to a depth of:

  • 10 cm/4” (the light grey sample),
  • or 15 cm/6” (the purple sample). The lower body in stockinette sts is worked with A-line shaping on the sides. Thelace-pattern is a bit wider than the upper body = hip bonus. The neckline can be worked as a shaped boat-neck (purple sample), or a deeper neck (ligth grey sample).

Construction

Miss Truffle has a seamless construction.
You work the lower body in the round and bottom-up, starting from the broad, or narrow lace-patterned hem, followed by the stockinette section with slight A-line shaping on the sides.
At underarms work is split for upper back and front.
the upper back and front are worked flat in separate pieces. 1.5 cm/0.5” before the shoulder-join, the shoulders are shaped by binding off sts.
The neck of the front is also shaped by binding off sts. When all sts are bound off, sts are picked up along the bind-off sts, and a ribbed edge is worked across the shoulders and neck. On the last row of the ribbing, sts are bound off for neck on both, front and back, and the shoulder-sts are worked together by grafting, or by the 3-needle method.
The sleeves are worked top-down and in the round, from picked up and knit sts around the armhole openings.

Materials
Yarn: I recommend a fingering weight yarn with a great stitch-definition that knits up to gauge to work the top.
I used ”Singles” from Life in the long grass, in the colour-way ”Baroque” to work the sample.
This yarn comes in skeins of 366 m/400 yards. Of this specific yarn you will need 680/725/825/925/1025/1125/1225/1325/1475 m = 745/790/900/1010/1120/1230/1335/1445/1610 yards. If you add length to the lower body, and/or longer sleeves, you need to count for more yarn. Needles: circular needles, 3 mm/US2.5 to work the body. A set of DPNS (or a circular needle, if working the magig loop), 3 mm/US2.5 to work the sleeves.
Notions: 2 removable stitch-markers.
Separate holders (or waste yarn). Blunt tapestry needle. Blocking tools, suitable for your yarn.

Gauge 26 sts and 36 rounds/rows in stockinette sts, as well as in lace-pattern = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4”.

The pattern
The pattern is tested and proof-read.
The lace-pattern is charted, as well as written out, round by round.
There is a schematic.
All measurements are in cm’s, as well as in inches.
The 2 options for the depth of the hem are instructed.
The 2 options for the depth of the neckline are instructed.
