I was inspired by a vintage pattern first published in 1895 in The Art of Crocheting. I have rewritten the pattern using fiber and hook sizes that are widely accessible today while maintaining the integrity of the original design.

I present to you the modern Star Fascinator! A pretty head scarf. A small shawl. A large shawl. A pattern that works well in acrylic. It still looks good after you have thrown it in the dryer. A pattern that looks lovely in lace weight.

Bead it. Use unusual yarn. Stripe it. It has so many possibilities.

This is a perfect prayer shawl or gift to someone in an assisted care facility. It is a long shallow triangle. Pretty enough to make any wearer feel gorgeous! The pattern is fairly dense and so this can be a warmer shawl if made from a heavier fiber.

This pattern can be made any size and use any yarn. It is one of those wonderful patterns that is completely adaptable and still looks great!
