Mont Royal is a quick and easy pattern for a cozy cowl that can be easily layered on top of a parka’s collar to provide extra warmth in the depth of winter. It is a great pattern if you are a beginner and want something more interesting then a ribbed scarf, and the mix of knit and purl stitches in the round allows you to practice both stitches. As someone who gets as much satisfaction from simple projects as the most complex one, I daresay that even an experienced knitter will enjoy making this.

The neck warmer is worked in the round and the instruction for the cross pattern is in a chart.

As mentioned on the pattern, I suggest looking up tutorials on how to tighten up a rib stitch because the rib is pretty flat and the misshapen second knit stick will really stand out, at least it did for me.
