When I happened upon this yarn at my local yarn store I was inspired by the texture and the colours and knew I had to design something simple to showcase the effects of the yarn

The texture created when knitting with a thick and thin yarn looks like surface of the moon and so I decided to call it Moonwalker.

The cowl is knit flat and then a small seam (running stitch) joins the two ends together to create the circle. Easy peasy!

With two sizes to choose from and each size using less than one ball of yarn makes this a great quick item for yourself or a thoughtful and fun gift. Nobody needs to know how simple this is to knit!

Perfect for beginners and fun for more experienced knitters looking for simple summer knitting.

Finished Measurements: After gentle blocking: (measurements are approximate).
Small cowl: Neck opening = 48.3cm/19”. From midpoint of neckline edge to tip = 35.5cm/14”.
Back of neck seam = 7.6cm/3”.
Large cowl: Neck opening = 54.6cm/21.5”. From midpoint of neckline edge to tip = 44.5/17.5”.
Back of neck seam = 11.4cm/4.5”.

Gauge: Unblocked: 16 stitches x 22 rows = 10cm/4” in stocking stitch. Gauge is not critical but can affect finished size and yardage. Thick and thin yarns like this are hard to achieve consistent gauge with so the pattern is written with this in mind.
