Simple vest with lace panels on front and back that include moss texture, and bands of texture panels along the sides. It is designed in a cotton yarn with unbuttoned open style so that it will be a light layering piece even for summer. But you could certainly add buttons and make it year-round!

The idea of the side panels is to add a place for optional shaping to fit you nicely, without complicated interruption of the lace pattern. It also helps the lace panels line up vertically along the sides in a flattering way.

Knit in one piece bottom-up to the armholes, then fronts and back are finished to shoulder. Front band and armholes are finishing steps.

The Moss Diamond Lace is charted, not written, but a simple repeat of 8 st over 20 rows. Really easy to “read” as you go, almost a beginner level lace.

I think this is classified somewhere between beginner and intermediate. The stitches are easy, but it is lace and front neck shaping requires a bit of thought to keep your stitch count right.
