Soft and squishy, sweet and warm: this is a cowl for wintertime. You don’t need much know-how to knit this, and the buttons make this cowl infinitely more interesting than a plain, old scarf (they make everything more interesting, after all).

For this pattern, I wanted something simple and quick, so I used a beautiful, bulky yarn, and decided not to bother one bit with buttonholes. Instead, we’ll just sew the buttons and place, and use them to hold the whole thing together. And because the cowl is knit in a single flat piece, from the vertical edge, you have a lot of flexibility with the fit.
