This is a basic beanie pattern. Actually it’s more recipe than pattern. It’s knit in the round with a ribbed band. Only basic knitting skills are required: knitting in the round, knit, purl and knit 2 stitches together. It should be easily accomplished by an advanced beginner. More experienced knitters will find this pattern to be a fast knit with almost limitless possibilities for personalization. If this is your first hat knit in the round, you may wish to knit the pattern as written once before changing stitch patterns or adding stripes to personalize the pattern. The basic pattern will adapt well to adding stripes, different ribbing patterns and different stitch patterns. The sample for this pattern was knit with Knit Picks Swish, 100% superwash wool. Any worsted weight yarn except 100% cotton (not enough stretch and stitch memory) may be substituted for the yarn I used. The pattern is available in .wps and.rtf formats so that most people should be able to open the file.
