Mujaji
Mujaji is the African Goddess of balance, restoration, weather, cleansing and fertility. She is symbolised by rainwater.
The scarf is an unusual design, in that it has a fold over collar with a very open lacework body. It is also cast on along the longer side. With the use of beads it looks like raindrops on a window pane.
This piece is very versatile -
It can be knitted as per the instructions as a necklet,
as a scarf by increasing the number of stitches,
and a stole by increasing the number of stitches and the number of repeats of chart 2.
It can be knitted in two colours or one.
The neck edge is reversed for the necklet, but by omitting the ‘knit one row’ after Chart 1, all right side stitches will be on one side.
Beads are optional.
It could also be knitted in different weights of yarn.
