Mutha Earth is knitted in the round on double-pointed needles from the top of the globe down, increasing on every other round until you get to the equator. It is then knit back and forth to create an opening for the ball-mount hitch and ended by creating integrated ties on the last two rows. The continents are embroidered freehand in chain stitch after the knitting is complete.
