Myrtle is a simple and elegant summer tee. The tee features puffy set-in cap sleeves, i-cord edges, and an adorable i-cord tie in the front. Myrtle is designed with Wool and the Gang’s Tina Tape – a super airy and breathable summer yarn. Tina Tape is a lovely smooth flat tape yarn, made from eucalyptus tree fiber. It’s available in a wide range of gorgeous colors.

This tee is a super quick knit because it’s worked up on 7 mm needles, and nevertheless it’s got great drape! Front, back, and sleeves are worked separately, after which the shoulder and side seams are closed. The i-cord edges are added in the end.

Myrtle is designed to have some negative ease around the bust (approx. 0 – 10 cm / 0 – 4 inches), but you can also opt for 0 – 10 cm (0 – 4 inches) of positive ease if you prefer wearing your garments with a little more positive ease. The pattern includes instructions for a body with or without waist shaping.

SIZES

XS, (S, M, L) (XL, 2XL, 3XL) (4XL, 5XL)

Choosing the right size is of utmost importance. Take your body measurements and choose the size that corresponds with them. The recommended ease for this design is approx. 0-10 cm (0-4 inches) of negative ease. However, if you prefer wearing your garments with a little more positive ease, you can also opt for 0-10 cm (0-4 inches) of positive ease to achieve the desired fit. The measurements below are the finished garment measurements, not your own.

Chest circumference:
70, (80, 90, 100) (110, 120, 130) (140, 150) cm
27½, (31½, 35½, 39½) (43½, 47, 51) (55, 59) inches

Armhole depth:
16, (17, 18, 19) (20, 22, 23) (24, 25) cm
6¼, (6¾, 7, 7½) (7¾, 8¾, 9) (9½, 10) inches

The pattern includes a full size chart. Feel free to email me if you need any additional measurements.

MATERIALS

Needles: 7 mm knitting needles (UK size 2) or other needle size that matches gauge. The body and sleeves can be worked on straight needles, but for the i-cord edges along the bottom and neckline you’ll need a circular needle. I recommend using a 60 cm / 24 inch circular needle for the neckline, and an 80 cm / 32 inch or 100 cm / 40 inch circular needle for the bottom edge.

Yarn: Worsted weight yarn, approx. 450, (500, 570, 600) 650, 700, 77080) meters / 500, (550, 570, 660) 710, 770, 84070) yards.

I used Tina Tape from Wool and the Gang in the colorway Eucalyptus Green for my sample. Tina Tape is a worsted weight 100% Lyocell (Tencel) yarn that comes in 100 g balls (à 150 meters / 164 yards). It’s a super smooth flat tape yarn, made from eucalyptus tree fiber. Tina Tape is available at www.woolandthegang.com.
You can get a 15% discount on your first order from Wool and the Gang through this link. You can also use any other yarn that matches gauge.

Other tools: Darning needle, scissors, stitch markers.
