You can knit Nested Diamonds as a single- or double-wrap cowl. You need approximately 200 yards per color for the single-wrap, and 400 yards per color for the double wrap. This design requires 2 colors.

Nested Diamonds is a heavily modified Barbara Walker mosaic pattern turned into brioche. All the brioche stitches form diamond patterns, while the colors form rectangles. A very cool optical illusion! The cowl looks fabulous on both sides. On side 2, or the wrong side, the diamonds are more prominent.

Gauge for the cowl is based on the pattern repeat after it was lightly steamed blocked. Each pattern repeat is 5 ¼” wide, 6 ½” high.

K1/p1 long tail cast-on is used to provide a sturdy and stretchy base. Watch video of how to work this cast-on Continental style, or English/traditional style.

Icelandic bind-off is used to pair up with the cast-on. Watch video of how to work the bind-off.
