This filet look baby blanket looks like boxes nested together. It may look challenging but is very easy once you start working the design. It is made with only double crochet and chain stitches. A solid color yarn is recommended so the design is not lost. You’ll need 958 yards of sport weight yarn and a size G crochet hook for a blanket that is 39.5” long x 32.5” wide (unblocked). It can be made with any weight of yarn by changing the hook size to suit the yarn. The heavier the yarn, the more yardage you will need to complete the design and the larger the blanket size. I made a worsted weight version with 1,227 yards using a size I crochet hook. It measured 40” wide x 53” long. There are two versions of this pattern available to download. One is a 7 page pattern that includes written instructions and two crochet charts with options for making it larger or with worsted weight yarn. The alt version has table style written instructions that shorten the pattern by two pages .
