This is a pattern for a cloche hat for newborn baby girls. I have made several of these hats without having a gauge, and it has worked out fine. Medium, 4 weight yarn also works good! If you crochet a little looser and go up a hook size, you will come out with a hat that will be approximately 3mo baby size.
