With the option to knit as a sleeveless vest or a long-sleeved cardigan, Newel is a thick cabled garment with plenty of modern appeal. With bias stockinette stitch front panels and knit in Quarry yarn, Newel strikes a balance of rusticity and elegance. Wide cables adorn the collar and front bands, integrating cleverly with pockets that complement the overall wearability of Newel.

Construction

The garment is worked flat in one piece from a Provisional Cast On from the bottom to the underarms on a circular needle to accommodate the large number of stitches. The fronts and back are worked separately to the shoulder. The sleeves are worked circularly from the top down.
