Night Blooms is a versatile lace shawl with sinuous curves and openwork, knitted from the center top downward and outward. More than a half circle, it drapes beautifully and stays comfortably on the shoulders. The sample shawl blocked to 34” long down the center back and 62” wide across the top edge.

This shawl was designed to take advantage of the properties of Lana Grossa Chiara, a smooth slippery metallic looking rayon with a subtle mohair halo, which opens up beautifully with blocking and has phenomenal drape. However as Chiara can be difficult to find, notes are included within the pattern about choosing a substitute yarn. Blockability is essential, as with most lace shawl patterns.

This is a charted pattern and the lace itself is quite detailed, thus is only recommended for experienced knitters. Full written instructions are NOT provided.

Due to the non-traditional shaping, the charts are complex and require a certain amount of comprehension above simply following the chart row by row. To help in explaining the peculiarities of the construction method a diagram is included, as well as specific commentary for each chart.

Please read all of the instructions thoroughly, even when working from the charts!
