This doll was created when, after a quick Google search, I realized that there weren’t any good crochet patterns for authentic looking Norse/Viking amigurumis. Now, no, this does not mean the doll is completely historically accurate, but I have tried to recreate it as much as possible within the confines of crochet without making it too complex of a pattern.

Worked mostly in one piece this doll is created from basic crochet techniques. You will need to know: sc, hdc, dc, slst, FLO and BLO. You will also need, in addition to the yarn, beads, beading wire and crimp beads. You can also add safety eyes to the doll if you so desire; I just like how she looks without them!

Gauge is not important for this amigurumi but I do suggest that you keep your hook a smaller size to keep your tension tighter. This prevents the stuffing from showing through and gives you a sturdier doll. I suggest a US C hook, but if this is too small try moving up just one or two hook sizes. Anything more is not recommended.

I have made this pattern several times myself but, as always, if you spot any errors, have any problems, questions or general suggestions, feel free to contact me here, on my website yarnpaint.com or at yarnpaint@gmail.com. I am very willing to help and answer questions!!
