This design has been developed by my 12-year-old son, whose ideas and specifications – from single pattern elements up to blocking – I followed to knit a prototype and write down the instructions. It was a great experience for us to cooperate in this project, and I’m darn proud of him.
The sale of this pattern will hopefully boost his pocket money. :-)

Northern Beach is a shawl with the main body worked in 1/1 moss stitch resembling coarse sand, jagged edges like cone snails, and a border with a shell pattern.

The shell pattern includes short rows. Here no extra techniques are required - turning the work and continue knitting is fully sufficient.

The size given in the pattern uses about 180g of sock yarn (800m, 880y).

Dieses Design hat mein 12-jähriger Sohn entworfen. Ich habe nach seinen Vorgaben - von einzelnen Musterelementen bis hin zum Spannen - einen Prototypen gestrickt und die Anleitung geschrieben. Unsere Zusammenarbeit in diesem Projekt hat uns großen Spaß gemacht, und ich bin sehr stolz auf ihn.
Der Verkauf der Anleitungen wird hoffentlich sein Taschengeld erhöhen. :-)

Northern Beach ist ein Schultertuch, dessen Rumpf im 1/1 Perlmuster gestrickt wird, das an groben Sand erinnert, gezackte Kanten wie Seeschneckenhäuschen hat und eine Borte im Muschelmuster.

Das Muschelmuster wird mit verkürzten Reihen gearbeitet. Hier braucht man dafür allerdings keine spezielle Technik. Man wendet einfach die Arbeit und strickt weiter.

Die in der Anleitung beschriebene Größe verbraucht ca. 180g Sockenwolle (800m).
