Life goes on….Brah!
La la how the life goes on!

Worked seamlessly from the shoulders-down, the pullover’s set-in sleeves are created simultaneously with the upper bodice in a technique originally described by Barbara Walker (photo tutorial included). See both Valine and Prescott for the same technique. Stripes in 3 colors keep the knitting fun, though it also looks smashing in a solid color.

Shaping for this fitted pullover is accomplished at the sides to avoid any bending of the stripes at the front or back of the garment. The pattern includes a section on customizing the fit to your own preferences as well as a how-to (in a separate pdf) for adding horizontal bust darts for additional tailoring. Special consideration must be given to creating HBDs on a striped sweater to avoid interrupting the stripe pattern with short rows.

The technique is a fiddly at first, but a photo tutorial is also included to allow you to be confident and check your progress. Short rows are required to shape the shoulders, and you must pick up stitches for the top of each sleeve cap. Otherwise, only the ability to purl, knit, perform increases & decreases, and simple chart-reading are necessary to complete the design.

Sizes: 29(32, 35, 38, 41, 44, 47, 50)” bust require approximately
2(3, 3, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4) skeins Plucky Primo Fingering (385 yds/skein) in the Main Color (MC), and
1 skein each of CC1 and CC2, or
2(2, 2, 3, 3, 3, 3, 4) skeins Tosh Merino Light (420 yds/skein) in the MC, and 1 skein each of CC1 and CC2, or approximately
710(775 , 875, 950, 1050, 1175, 1285, 1400) yards of MC, 75(85, 95, 115, 135, 150, 175, 190) yards of CC1, and 150(170, 190, 230, 275, 300, 350, 380) yards of CC2 in fingering weight yarn.

For those wishing to add horizontal bust darts to their pullover, the pattern also includes (in a separate pdf) a general how-to for these as well.
