Here is a quirky little octopus that adds a touch of whimsy to any project.

It finishes at about 4 inches across and 3 inches high, depending on the yarn you are using. Feel free to ignore my gauge and yardage information above, that is just what I used. This is a simple intarsia chart that can be used with any needle size or yarn (some may turn out better than others) so go ahead and experiment! Note: It was not knitted in a round (although a clever knitter could probably do so).

This is the first pattern I have made. It started with a sketch and then I simply filled it in on graph paper. The more finished version is little better than that, but basically follow the chart, using the x as your main colour and the o for the octopus. The whole pattern is 41 stitches wide and 25 rows long, so it could be worked into a wide variety of projects, using only a little additional yarn.

If anyone finishes a project, please let me know, I would really love to see how it turned out!
