For those occasions when you want to be warm and look fabulous at the same time… Oran Mor is a fitted cowl with lashings of style. Oran Mor is Scots Gaelic for ‘The Great Song’ and is also a theatre/restaurant/bar in Glasgow’s West End.

The main body of the cowl is made up of lots of loops, backed by a layer of stocking stitch. The top and bottom edges are finished with garter stitch in a contrast colour.

The size of the cowl, type of yarn and nature of it’s construction mean that it sits up nicely around the neck without drooping.

Two skeins of the main colour are required and only a small amount of contrast colour yarn. Colours used in the sample are 2 X 50g Shade 373 (Pumpkin) and 1 X 50g Shade 377 (Cinnamon).

The size of the cowl with correct tension/gauge is: Circumference - 52cm / 20.5” Height - 17cm / 6.75”.

Instructions for knitting the loop stitch are included in the pattern.
