This cowl uses two or more colorways in a textured mosaic stitch pattern. Color 1 is a solid color (black in sample) and color 2 can be a variegated, a solid, leftovers, mini-skeins, anything that has good contrast with color 1.

Skills required
 Long-tail cast-on
 Slipping stitches

Materials
 Approximately 330 yards of fingering-weight yarn – 170 yards of color 1 (black in sample) and 160 yards of color 2 (multi-colored in sample). Sample was knit in Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light and Malabrigo Mechita (single-ply superwash merino). It’s best if color 1 is either the darkest or lightest of all colors involved
 US4/3.5mm needles or size needed to obtain gauge with cable length appropriate for a small circumference (you may be able to use 24”, but 16” is probably better). You could also use 2 circulars or magic loop
 Stitch marker
 Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Mosaic pattern is charted and written.

Sample was knit in madelinetosh tosh merino light in Onyx and Malabrigo Mechita in Anniversario
