Simple Fair Isle socks using Shetland yarns with three stranded designs on the legs give an easy and enjoyable introduction to Fair Isle socks. There are two sizes given – women’s small/medium and medium/large, with the larger size instructions in parentheses. Once the first chart is worked, try the socks on over your heel to make sure they are loose enough to get on comfortably. If necessary, go up a needle size. Please keep in mind that Shetland yarns will felt and shrink a bit with wear and washing, so a little ease when the socks are new will give you longer life with your socks.
