In a leafy thicket hides a little owl, his eyes glinting from between the tangled branches. This cowl features a leafy border that connects with twisted cabled branches and owls hiding in hollows created by more cables. Beads are placed during knitting for the eyes, but can be omitted if desired and buttons used for embellishment after the knitting is completed. The cowl is available in three sizes: short, fitting close around your neck; intermediate, as a longer loop that can be pinned up; and long, for double wrapping around your neck.

This pattern contains cable charts as well as full written instructions.

A Note on Yardage: A large amount of cabling seems to result in a huge variation of yardage usage depending a lot on the individual knitter and yarn used. The estimates given here represent the highest amounts used during testing for each size. Please see the projects on Ravelry to get a feel of the variation possible.
