This shawl features a unique Japanese stitch that is combined with a Russian lace edging stitch. Combined, they make a striking shawl. It is a fun knit, and goes fairly quickly as it’s knit using heavy fingering weight yarn. For those of you that are fans of many of the Japanese knitting stitches, I think you’ll enjoy knitting this shawl.

The stitches are charted out only.

Skill level: Intermediate (assuming a working knowledge of cable and lace knitting).

The shawl/stole was expertly test knitted by Julie Anderson, who can be reached at: kuli.anderson@charter.net The shawl was knit using Fleece Artist’s Lofty 2-6 in colorway perwinkle.

There are also instructions contained within the pattern for an optional crocheted edging.
