The pattern stitch uses short rows to create the waves in the pattern stitch. Five markers are used in the pattern to mark the center points of the sections. The work is turned 2, 4, or 6 stitches after the marker,
worked back to the marker, then turned again 2, 4, or 6 stitches after the marker. In rows 1-9 of the pattern stitch, the work is turned around the 2nd and 4th marker, and on rows 15-23 of the pattern the work is turned around the 1st, 3rd, and 5th marker.

This scarf in interesting to knit and it is amazing how the color changes just fit the waves.

Errata - Row 19 of pattern stitch should end with k10

The pattern begins with CO 40 rather than CO 36.
