A simple hat with just a touch of extra ease, featuring alternating bands of eyelets (peas) and stockinette (potatoes). The crown shaping is incorporated into the lace pattern. Find out more here.

Size One size, to fit an average adult woman’s head (54-56 cm/ 21-22” circumference)

Gauge 13 sts x 19 rounds = 5x5 cm (2 sq. in) in stockinette, after blocking

Yarn 185 yards of fingering weight yarn (you will have very little yarn left) in main color, about 1 m of contrasting color. Sample used one skein of Louet Gems Fingering Weight (100% Merino, 185 yards/50 g) as the main color yarn.

Needles A circular needle or a set of 5 double-pointed needles in 2.75 mm (US 2) size, or size to obtain gauge. Use whichever needle type is required for your preferred knitting-in-the-round method (i.e. dpns, magic loop, or two circulars).

Notions Tapestry needle for finishing; marker if using circular needle
