Pennate: resembling wings or feathers. This curved triangle shawl, large and cozy, was inspired by the idea of dinosaurs having feathers. (Its working name was Dino Feathers.)

Feathery lace columns grow on each side of a central spine, and the border is included as edge rows. Some sections of the lace involve patterning on both right and wrong sides.

The size of the shawl can be easily adjusted by adding or subtracting repeats. The knitting was kind of addictive - I made three of them in different colors in rapid succession - two spangled and one self-striping.

Gauge is not critical, but changes may result in more yarn being needed. Use any yarn with appropriate needles. Instructions are both written and charted.
