Pattern description from Bag Style: “Inspired by a photograph of a penny rug she had snipped from a catalog years ago, Mags Kandis designed this colorful boxy bag. She worked the body of the bag in one piece, from the top of the front, down to the lower edge, across the base, then back up to the top of the back - ending with a foldover flap. Mags chose a lively stripe pattern for the front and back and a contrasting but coordinating intarsia dot pattern (accented with circles of felt) for the flap. To give the bag a distinctive shape, Mags sewed gussets in the base, then felted the bag in her washing machine and blocked if over a cardboard snack box of the appropriate dimensions. The straps are narrow strips of stockinette that curl naturally into rounded tubes.”

Finished Size: About 12.5” (32 cm) wide, 14.75” (37.5 cm) tall, and 3” (7.5 cm) deep before felting; 8” (20.5 cm) wide, 7” (18 cm) tall, and 2” (5 cm) deep after felting.

Notions: Tapestry Needle; sharp-point embroidery needle with an eye large enough to accommodate yarn for French knots; scissors; net laundry bag
